Rooster in OctoberThis is a new prayer hanging made as a birthday gift for a friend. Such fun to create with no rules!  In fact, where else are there no rules, except when being creative?  Much love goes with this wish for a wonderful year.

Info about the materials:  background is raw silk dyed with logwood (dk. blue and gray), onion skins (dk. yellow), and goldenrod (light yellow).  The rooster was printed with acrylic paint on cotton using a carved wood block.  Sewing is done with silk threads. The “sun” is a fragment of a linen napkin and the butterfly was cut from some upholstery fabric.  Tiny shiny beads make the flowers.
