This is a lap quilt with no batting, just tied with #3 perle cotton thread.  The blocks, called crazy patchwork, were made a long time ago by my client’s grandmother, Nellie, in Middle Tennessee.   Many of the fabric scraps can be attributed to specific family garments.  The red and white check in the middle right square comes from something related to the Purina Company where Nellie’s husband worked.  My work was to cut and sew the border and sashing pieces of navy, attach the navy back with ties, and bind it.  The finished piece is about 40″ x 58″.  There will be 2 more to do later.
