There is a ritual i have developed over the years:  as March opens, i begin to look for signs of new growth under the leaves, the bloodroot shoot, the bluebells, etc.  I am grieving my old garden plots and yard – 26 years – i could tell you every plant with my eyes closed.  hard to let go.

Here i am in new terrain, rocky, sloped ground, standing water – i have no idea what i will find here, but probably not much more than was on 19th when i first moved there.  I can start again.  So i got these two simple succulents today – never grown them before – and rejoice in their beauty!
