Shortbread recipe from Mary Turner – paternal great grandmother of my daughters

                2 sticks butter(1 cup), 1/2 cup sugar, 3 1/2 cups flour,
                       pinch baking powder, pinch salt.
1.  Cream the butter and sugar.
2.  Work in rest gradually, hands work well here.
3.  Roll dough 1/2 inch thick and cut into squares.
4.  Place on cookie sheet and pick with fork.
5.  Cook at 350 degrees until lightly brown.
6. Take out fast; they get browner as they cool

  1. Anne,

I’ve been meaning to tell you that I printed off this recipe for short bread and that I intend to bake it soon.

    Sounds delicious.

    Your new look is great!
